Thank you for considering me for your headshot session! Whether you're a hairstylist, lawyer, work from home mama, or real estate agent, your headshot speaks volumes about who you are. It's your personal brand. Depending on your needs, each session is customized to perfectly depict the look you're hoping for.
If you haven't already, please take a moment to look through my headshot portfolio by clicking here. It's incredibly important when hiring a photographer to make sure their style works well with yours, and I realize I'm not the photographer for every single person.
Please keep in mind that sessions are tailored to your needs. So if there's something missing in my packages that you need, please feel free to ask!
All sessions require a $50 retainer (credited toward session total) & signed contract within 24 hours of booking to reserve your session date.
What is the turnaround time?
Your initial gallery of the best images from your session are un-edited and sent to you within 3-4 business days (M-F). Then once you choose your image, I edit the choices & return them to you professionally retouched within 10-14 business days.
What if I need my final images sooner?
Rush Order fees (2 day turnaround) are invoiced at 35% of the total package cost.
What's included in 'professional re-touching'?
Re-touching includes color correction, blemish removal, light skin smoothing (I still want you to look like a real person!), and cropping to 8x10 unless otherwise requested. More advanced edits such as straightening a tie or shirt line, smoothing or removing pieces of hair or altering the image in various way may incur an additional fee.
If I purchase the "Essentials" package, but then decide I want more than 1 image, what's the cost per file?
Additional high-resolution image files are $50 each.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes! Please contact me with the number of employees needing headshots, the general look you're hoping to achieve (backdrop vs. outdoor, professional vs. casual, etc) and I will send over a quote.
Do you have a studio?
I do not at the moment, however I can rent a space if needed. The cost of the studio rental does change the overall session price. In the past, I always prefer to shoot on-location, whether it be at your place of work (near windows - let's discuss!), a coffee shop, or outdoors.
What types of background should I use?
Most professional headshot clients prefer my gray, slightly textured background. It looks beautiful with all types of clothing and skin tones, though I also offer a brownish-gray backdrop, and both can be altered slightly to reflect the look the we're needing to achieve. Otherwise I recommend shooting in a natural setting or coffeeshop (with the owner's permission of course.)
What should I wear?
This depends on what you do for a living. For business professionals, I typically recommend a suit jacket that fits well with an undershirt in a neutral tone. For those who work in more casual environments, I would recommend something you would wear to a typical business meeting with a client. Tones of primary colors work well (think deep purple, burgandy, mustard yellow, robins egg blue, pale pink, jewel green, etc). Jewelry should be complimentary of the outfit you choose, and if you choose a scarf, be sure you can still see part of your neck or be willing to take it off for several images in case it doesn't work well with the photos.
What if I wear glasses?
Bring them. We'll take images with and without them on if you'd like.
I'm really nervous to be in front of the camera. What can I do to make this more enjoyable?
I PROMISE it's not as bad as you think it'll be. I've been in your position several times, so I know it's nerve-wracking. But I'm laid back, give plenty of direction, continue shooting until we have solid images for you to choose from, and I'm not against you drinking a glass of wine or bringing your best friend to help you relax or laugh. I have a few 'tricks' that help me bring out real smiles, and usually by the end of your session, I feel like I've made a new friend. :)
