Last week the boys starting asking when they could fly their kite. So you can bet when we finally had a windy day with less snow, we grabbed that kite and got out there.

It was a blast. Until River let go of the kite and it flew to a tree in the front yard within seconds (you can view River's reaction in an image toward the bottom of this post.) :)

And just then, the wind picked up even more and storm clouds came rolling in. I don't know how, but Kyle, being the superdad that he is, somehow managed to get their kite out of the tree that night.

I feel so many days go by between special moments like these where we find a fun activity to do as a family, and it's been a goal of mine lately to look for more opportunities. Things that we can experience together, like the outing we did a month or so ago to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum where the kids shrieked with excitement at the various stations and in the children's area. Or going sledding at a local community hill. We made so many memories on those days and the kids are *still* talking about them.

Like the saying goes "Enjoy yourself. These are the good ol' days you're going to miss in the years ahead." And I 100% believe that.

So I'll keep documenting days like these, and even the days in between when we're doing nothing but our normal routine. And I'll keep posting and sharing and printing these images, even if they're not perfect or don't live up to 'technically correct' standards. Because these are the moments I want to remember.

So, grab your DSLR, your point-n-shoot, your iPhone...and start documenting your everyday moments.

I promise you won't be sorry.
