The Lanes. One of my very favorite families. Fun-loving, easy going, and up for anything. I've been photographing this family for a couple of years now and I always joke that they're one of my VIP Families because I've gotten to know them so well through their regular sessions. Getting to know my clients on a friend-level is one of my favorite things about this amazing little thing I call a "job". Not only do I love making new friends, but it really makes the photos come naturally since everyone is more comfortable.
For this session, we chose the Vicksburg Train Station since Mason is 3 1/2 and all boy. He loved the old tractors, trains, and ample space to run. And really, location, along with keeping session lengths within reason are the key to a successful family shoot. About a half hour into the shoot, I knew I had exactly the shots I was looking for, but I kept my camera out and ready because I knew I'd miss something great if I didn't. And sure enough, all of the shots of Brendan holding Madi were taken right before we left.
