Dear River Cordell Rowland,I am so blessed to be your mama. We haven't officially met face to face yet, but I feel like I know you well. Your little kicks and flips through the wee hours of the night give me plenty of time to think about you and who you'll be. God has given us such a gift - a little brother to Remington, and I am so excited for the two of you to grow up together. Remy talks of you often and wonders how he'll share his toy guns with a little brother, but I know you two will work it out. Your daddy and I spent a good deal of time discussing your name. We wanted it to be strong enough to stand next to "Remington", and also be nature related since we have a love for all things outdoors. Your first name is also mentioned in my personal life verse: Jeremiah 17:7-8 (KJV) 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Your middle name is in honor of your Great Great Grandfather (my Grandpa Loftis' dad, Cordell). I remember visiting his beautiful farm in Cookeville, Tennessee many, many times with my grandparents as a young girl. He was a sweet man, with a gentle disposition, and his farm was incredible. I love hearing stories about growing up there from my Grandpa. Life wasn't always perfect, but he grew up knowing how to farm and raise animals, and that's in our blood. Your name is so special to me. I can't wait to hold you in my arms and kiss your sweet face. But for now, we'll keep praying that you grow stronger each day. I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with you, and time is flying by. I'm sure this second half of the pregnancy will be no different.
