Did you know that location scouting is my other part-time job? (I'm only half-kidding...) : ) Photog friends, I know you understand the struggle! I adore this gem of a spot I found a while back, and the way the light streams through the foliage. With every client, every session, even if they've hired me for five years straight, I send a client questionnaire. And when it returns, the first thing I look at is the type of location they're wanting. I begin putting connections together and brainstorming what would be best for their children's ages, or best fits the interests they have. Some days (like today, just before I wrote this post) I'll grab a coffee, throw the kids in the car and drive around looking for new spots, pretty light, thick foliage. So when Katie's questionnaire said "We completely trust your eye for choosing the perfect location!"... it made my day. : )

I'm so, so thankful to know this sweet little family, and to see the story God is writing in and through their lives. I left this session on such a photographer's-high because I'm so blessed to do what I do ... I have this passion and I'm going to keep pursuing it, soaking up every bit that I learn along the way as I document real lives, real stories.

If you love what you see below - the light and the interaction and the documented love, let's chat. I still have a few openings throughout the winter for in-home or outdoor sessions. Think snowman building, gingerbread houses, hot cocoa by your fireplace, or even snuggling up in bed with books and board games. I customize each session to who you are as a family, and promise a relaxing, laid back hour or two that ends with a beautiful gallery for you to keep forever.

Enjoy!

The most beautiful sunrise on a crisp fall day. Smiles, giggles, and plenty of snuggles. This session was perfect in every way, and it's been so wonderful to watch this family grow. From their maternity session in the woods to their Fresh48 in the hospital, and now this: a beautiful family of four spending the morning together in nature. Full hands and full hearts.

Enjoy!

Fall Mini Sessions were a success! We met at my sweet sister-in-law's farm complete with old barns, a beautiful orchard, bee hives, and tall grassy fields. The families came ready for fun, and each session was filled with laughter, play, and tons of snuggling. Such a great morning.

Enjoy!

Love, love, love this sweet family of three (soon to be four!) They heard about my photography from a friend, and if I do say so myself, we were well-matched. My adoration for documenting real life moments + the way they loved on little Drew = some amazingly sweet and tender moments captured. The greatest possible gift I can give a family is a true representation of the here and now. Because here and now will soon be yesterday, or years ago, and it gets harder and harder to remember the little things... like the way your one year old gets sleepy and decides to rest on your shoulder while cuddling his blanky... or his fascination with pulling his little red wagon just like daddy... or how he gets excited and runs full force at you landing in a giant bear hug. If you have kids, I'm sure you can think of a million little things they do right now that you don't ever want to forget.

If you've been considering scheduling a family photo session, ask yourself what you're waiting for. (And I'm not saying that because I want you to book with me, though I would love that!  -- I just really want you to ponder the weight of that question.) How will you feel if suddenly fifteen years have passed and you have no family photos? These moments are fleeting. And you simply can't put a price on memories.

Enjoy.
